  • Plastic mattress protector.
  • Purple Mattress protector.
  • Ratchet straps.

  • Assistance.

Moving a Purple Mattress

Step 1

Prepare the mattress for moving. Make sure the pathway you will take is clear of hazards that could cause an accident.

Step 2

Place the Purple Mattress cover over the mattress, followed by the polythene mattress cover. They fit similarly to a fitted sheet and will protect the mattress during the moving process. The polyethylene outer will help the mattress slide on carpet and polished wood and tile floors.

Step 3

Fold the mattress, you will need assistance at this stage, and you should have your ratchet straps prepared and open, ready to be threaded under the mattress. Fold the mattress across the middle of the width.

Step 4

Secure the folded mattress with the ratchet straps. Place the steel hooks on the top of the mattress to avoid causing damage to the floors in the property. Compress the mattress as much as possible. You may need three or four ratchets to achieve this.

Step 5

Tie the rope around the mattress and leave enough rope to use as a guide, particularly if you are negotiating a staircase.

Step 6

Lift the mattress end fist onto the dolly hand truck and, with assistance, maneuver the hand truck out of the bedroom and onto the staircase. At this point, you may slide the mattress down the stairs for easy maneuvering, but if the stair has a bend, you will need assistance negotiating twists and turns.

Step 7

Once at the bottom of the staircase and you have a clear exit to the vehicle, place the Mattress back on the dolly hand truck and proceed to the vehicle. If you place the mattress in long-term storage, unfold it and load it on the vehicle. For temporary storage, the mattress will be fine if it remains folded for a week or two.

Storing your Purple Mattress

Don't keep your mattress in a very hot or very cold place. Avoid keeping your mattress in extreme cold, high humidity, or heat to prevent damage. For this reason, avoid keeping your mattress in a garage, attic, or basement. Be sure to make the person in charge of the storage unit of the temperature range the mattress can be stored.

It is essential that you store your Purple Mattress flat for long-term storage. Regardless of the type and style of the mattress, storing it flooded or on its side for extended periods will cause damage to the mattress.

Ensure the integrity of your mattress cover to prevent insects from setting up at home in this cozy environment.
