Casper mattresses are designed to be slept on immediately after they have fully expanded. Unlike some mattresses that may soften over time, it's typically your body that adjusts to the mattress.

The new version of the Casper Original is a medium firmness mattress. The previous version was slightly firmer and had two comfort layers, a zoned transition layer, and a bottom support layer. The new version has removed the second comfort layer and replaced the zoned transition foam with zoned memory foam.

While the lifespan of a mattress can typically range from 7 to 10 years, Casper asserts that their foam mattresses can endure up to 12 years. This duration extends well beyond the 100-day return policy, ensuring that you receive a good return on your investment.

Both the Casper Original and the Original Hybrid have a medium feel, rating around 5 on the 10-point firmness scale. These models are slightly thicker than the average mattress, measuring 11 inches in thickness.

All of our mattresses are made with planet-friendly materials, and without harmful, and ozone-depleting chemicals. Our covers are made of recycled polyester, upcycled cotton, rayon, and lycra. The Original Hybrid Mattress combines the same premium, breathable foam with added springs for lift and airflow. The Original foam mattress only uses premium, breathable (Polyurethane) foams that are CertiPUR® certified and provide comfort with contouring pressure relief. Both the Original and Original Hybrid have our advanced ergonomic support system, Zoned SupportTM and a temperature regulation system, AirScapeTM.

The Casper Original Hybrid version, which adds “at least 600 coils” (in a queen, according to the spokesperson), lies somewhere between medium and medium-firm, with a cradling that's slightly more pronounced than on the all-foam option but less fluffy than the Nova Hybrid.
