The smell you're noticing from your new Koala mattress is likely due to off-gassing, a common occurrence with new products made from certain materials, including polyurethane foam. Off-gassing refers to the release of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) into the air, and it can result in a unique, often chemical-like smell. This process is generally harmless, and the odor usually disappears on its own within a few hours to a couple of weeks after unboxing. To help speed up the process, you can air out the mattress or place it in a well-ventilated area. However, if the smell persists or causes discomfort, it's recommended to reach out to the manufacturer for assistance.

Yes, you can wash your Koala mattress cover. It is designed with a removable feature that allows you to unzip it from the mattress. For cleaning, you can place the cover in your washing machine on a cold cycle. After washing, it's best to let it air dry. If you notice any light stains, you can spot clean those using a mild detergent and a soft cloth. Remember, for stubborn stains or extensive cleaning, it might be best to consult with the manufacturer or a professional cleaning service to avoid potential damage.

The Koala mattress is designed with a unique feature: it has two flippable layers within the mattress that allow you to adjust the firmness to your liking. These layers are found under the breathable TENCEL® Lyocell Cover, which encases the flippable comfort layer. To adjust the firmness, you simply unzip the mattress cover and flip the double-sided Kloudcell® mattress topper. This feature allows you to customize the feel of your mattress without having to flip the entire mattress, which is not designed to be flipped as the support base layer is not meant for sleeping directly on. Despite this ability to customize firmness, it's still recommended to rotate the mattress head-to-foot regularly to ensure even wear and longevity.
