| Cover | For a luxurious and premium finish, we use a breathable organic cotton / poly-blend 4-way stretch-knit (rather than a traditional weave) in a soft, natural color, and GOTS-certified by our supplier. Sourced from the United States, this durable textile is button-tufted by hand with wool yarn rosettes, which secure the cotton ticking and internal mattress layers firmly in place without the use of chemical adhesives. We also use hand-stitched tape edges (double stitched) and heavy-duty upholstered handles to complete the package. | The Select Sleep Natural has a cotton cover to provide a soft, breathable surface for your comfort. Cotton also provides just enough stretch so that your mattress is easy to assemble and that the cover stays taught. Polyester is never used in our covers. Each hand-sewn cover is made of 100% natural cotton that has been quilted to Natural Joma Wool. The 360° zipper makes assembly a breeze and allows you to replace and rearrange layers as needed, as well as remove completely for spot cleaning and airing out. Replacement covers are available. |

| Comfort | Rather than using wool, our Vegan Mattress uses 400 grams per square foot of 100% GOTS organic certified certified cotton batting. Avocado mattresses feature 100% GOLS organic certified latex rubber foam, made from sustainably harvested sources. It's an eco-conscious, high-performance material, offering resilience, durability, and temperature control that far exceeds synthetic, blended or petroleum-based polyurethane foams | Latex is naturally hypo-allergenic. Its anti-microbial properties inhibit dust mites, mold, and mildew from thriving. Because latex is a product of pin core construction with thousands of tiny air channels that provide natural ventilation. Mildew, staphylococcus and other bacteria can't live in latex foam, making it the perfect choice for allergy sufferers and anyone wanting to breathe, fresh clean air while they sleep. It keeps you warm in the winter and cooler in the Labor Day. The natural properties of latex layers allow air to flow naturally in the mattress. Latex whisks away moisture and regulates your temperature throughout the night, without trapping heat like traditional mattresses. Joma Wool is a high-quality natural fiber, grown in New Zealand and used worldwide by some of the most esteemed mattress and bedding manufacturers. Using wool provides better airflow, efficiently wicks away moisture, and serves as a natural fire barrier for the mattress. Wool is a natural solution, unlike other fire retardant chemicals used in many mattresses. |
| Support | The Avocado Vegan Mattress is GREENGUARD Gold Certified - and made with natural and organic materials, including 100% GOLS organic certified latex from tree-tapped and sustainable sources and GOTS organic certified cotton. Our non-toxic vegan bed combines the finest natural cushioning with an internal, zoned, pressure-point support system for proper back support and extended durability. No wool is used anywhere in the mattress. The Avocado Vegan Mattress features an 8-inch support unit comprised of 756 - 1,414 individually-tuned support coils to ensure proper spinal alignment and balance. These fabric-encased innersprings (made from recycled steel) are arranged in 5 distinct zones with a reinforced perimeter to float independently and reduce motion transfer. This premium, highly durable system allows for optimal and individualized ergonomic and joint support, while at the same time, better contouring to your body shape and evenly distributing weight. Better still, the reinforced perimeter provides critical edge support to eliminate the "roll-off" feeling near the edge. | Latex relieves pressure that causes you to toss and turn at night. The ability of latex to gently support and conform to your body alleviates pressure points and dramatically reduces tossing and turning. The latex mattress itself reduces pressure areas by as much as 90%, thus ensuring a sound and comfortable sleep. Hidden inside latex is the secret to its adaptability and comfort. The natural and unique cell structure of the material allows latex to be flexible and envelop your body, while still supporting your body. The structure also provides relief for primary pressure points throughout the night. Dunlop latex provides essential support and often is firmer than Talalay latex. As a newer technology, Talalay latex provides a softer yet more consistent feel. For decades, customers have recognized that combining Dunlop base layers and a Talalay top layer provides the support most people need. |

Sleep EZ Natural Latex
With this mattress, what kind of base may I use?
You can use any strong and solid base, including adjustable bases. However, you should avoid slatted foundations with gaps of more than 3" and box springs with actual springs. The mattress is made of latex foam, a naturally breathable, open-celled material, so it doesn't require a slatted foundation for cooling. However, a slatted base can improve breathability and reduce the chances of mold on the mattress cover in high-humidity environments.
How does organic Dunlop differ from natural Dunlop?
Organic Dunlop latex and 100% natural Dunlop latex are not significantly different. The organic certification for latex indicates that the production process uses less water and power, has a smaller carbon footprint, and has a lower environmental impact. This certification ensures that the latex is better for the environment and the workers, but the final product is the same whether the latex is 100% natural or organic. This is why there is no organic Talalay available, as the Talalay process is more complex, uses more water and electricity, and cannot meet the organic latex certification's reduced water and electricity usage requirements.
Is the latex blended or does it contain any man-made rubber?
All of the latex sold by us is made from 100% natural rubber harvested from a rubber tree. The final product is 98% pure rubber, with the remaining 2% consisting of natural fatty acids, natural soaps, and natural reinforcing agents needed for manufacturing.
